M2 Global Technology, Ltd., Receives Lockheed Martin Top 25 Supplier Award
SAN ANTONIO, Texas, August 11, 2016 – In recognition of a job well done, M2 Global Technology, Ltd., today received the Top 25 Supplier Award from Lockheed Martin (NYSE:LMT), the highest recognition given to the defense contractor’s worldwide network of 1,200 suppliers. The award was presented during a special ceremony at M2 Global’s headquarters in San Antonio.
Lockheed Martin’s Top 25 Supplier Awards Program selects 25 small and large businesses as top-performing suppliers each year based on overall quality, on-time delivery and dedication to continuous improvement.
“M2 Global takes pride in its decades-long history of providing outstanding products and services to our customers,” Doug Carlberg, the company’s president and chief executive officer said. “This award is a testament to our relentless pursuit of excellence, and to the commitment demonstrated by more than 50 hardworking M2 Global employees who guarantee that our products reach the customer on time and in perfect condition.”
M2 Global is a service disabled veteran-owned small business specializing in worldwide microwave products and precision manufacturing services. The company produced its first part for Lockheed Martin in 2006 – a wing shim for the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Since then, it has expanded its business with Lockheed Martin and now makes parts for other airframes, including the F-35 Lightning II, F-22 Raptor and C-130 Hercules, C-5 Galaxy and P-3 Orion.
In addition, M2 Global and Lockheed Martin participated in the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Mentor-Protégé program, which assisted the supplier compete for DoD work.
In 2009, M2 Global received Lockheed Martin’s Small Business of the Year Award. More recently, the firm earned the U.S. Small Business Administration Region VI Subcontractor of the Year Award in 2011 and the Texas Manufacturing Star Award in 2012.
“This award represents high performance and quality standards. To be considered, a Top 25 supplier must maintain a 99 percent on-time delivery rating with a 100 percent quality rating,” said Amy Gowder, vice president, Aeronautics Supply Chain Management and chair of the Lockheed Martin Supply Chain Council. “M2 Global plays a vital role in the success of Lockheed Martin’s innovative solutions and we acknowledge their proven track record for quality and on-time delivery involving numerous Lockheed Martin-produced aircraft.”
